International Wine Challenge 2019

Last May 2019 the 36th edition of the International Wine Challenge was held in London. This event is one of the most prestigious and rigorous and rewards the best wines and sparkling of the current scence. All tastings are blind and have the collaboration of high-level professionals. In the 2019 edition, 15.000 wines from all over the world were presented. We decided to participate with two of our Gran Reserva cavas, the most mature and the youngest one: Guilera Agosarat 2006 and Guilera Xarel·la 2014. Both of them were awarded with a gold medal and a bronze medal, respectively.



Guilera Agosarat 2006

  • Gold Medal and 95 points IWC 2019
  • International Wine Challenge Tasting Notes: Nose an orchestra of developed, but still fresh, aromas of beeswax and cooked pear, with toasty hints of sourdough. Palate very dry and infinitely long.

Guilera Red Xarel·la 2014

  • Bronze medal IWC and 86 points IWC 2019
  • International Wine Challenge Tasting Notes: Complex and well balanced. Pure lemon and notable autolytic character. Crisp acidity and a dry pithy finish.
