Cava Guilera is a small family winery with a rich tradition in the production of long-aged cava. Our focus is the production of Reserva and Gran Reserva cava in limited quantities, which guarantees meticulous attention to every detail.
Cava Guilera is the sum of the lives and contributions of four generations. Taking over involves valuing the work done and impregnating the present. Today Cava Guilera is the philosophy of The Vine Plant Man, Pere Guilera, with the work of his two children.

Maria Massana
Isidre made the first bottles of Cava Guilera in 1927, when he and Maria worked as sharecroppers in Can Batlle. He made a few bottles self-taught, studying the books in the owner's library.
In 1930 Isidre and Maria bought the farmhouse and vineyards of Ca l'Artigas, becoming owners. A risky step, but undoubtedly a successful one, since in 2017 we celebrated the 90th anniversary.
Pere and Maria continued the family business: they had a farm, they grew grapes and cereals and made cava. The farm was not profitable and they specialised in grape and peach production. And meanwhile, they continued making cava, remodeled the winery and acquired machinery for the production of cava.
Pere and Maria had two children: Pere and Assumpció. Pere studied agricultural technical engineering and in 1985 he took over the management of the winery.

Núria Rafecas
Pere and Núria went to live in Vilassar de Mar, he was an ornamental plant technician and she was a teacher. Pere combined work in the winery with floriculture, they saved, and in 1985 they returned to Penedès to reinvigorate the winery. During this period, Cava Guilera consolidated itself as a small family winery specialised in the artisanal production of long-aged cavas.
In 2018 Pere assumed the presidency of Cava Guilera and handed over the executive management to his two children: Jordi and Marta.
Beyond the winery itself, Pere was also strongly committed to the wine and cava sector. Two basic premises: revalue the landscape through wine tourism and re-prestige the cava through long aging. Pere has held positions of responsibility in different institutions, has contributed to promoting major territorial projects and is a respected figure within the wine and cava sector.

Jordi is the natural replacement for his father and is the new director of production and finance.
Marta graduated in Advertising and Public Relations at the UAB and took her first Fine Arts course at the UB. She studied and traveled... until the need to build something creative led her to live in the farmhouse. Marta joined the family business in 2008, she is the architect of the Cava Guilera communication and wine tourism project and co-founder of the Rimaires Cultural Association.
Miguel Hileno also joined the family project: he worked in the vineyard and winery, managed promotional issues and is co-founder of the Rimaires Cultural Association.
