CEMR: circular and sustainable economy

At Cava Guilera we have always been very sensitive and active with good landscape management, both at the company level and in the community. We are a family micro winery specializing in long-aging cavas [and during our more than 90 years of history] we have made quality, sustainability, the reuse of materials, the circular economy and commitment to our customers and visitors our axes. of work.

The EU encourages companies to include the circular economy in their production processes, and in this sense, we are happy to share a very important decision that we have made: this 2021 our cavas have been made with eco / MCRE rectified concentrated must. This means that we have replaced the cane or beet sugar that we use during tirage with grape sugar.

With this action we support our viticulturists and we take another step towards this new paradigm that is sustainability: we help to balance supply and demand, we are committed to KM0 products and we help to reduce the carbon footprint. Our vineyards are rainfed and now all the raw materials we use to make our cavas [grapes, sugar and yeasts] come from the cava / circular economy vineyards.

The CEFR is a present and future commitment: we move towards sustainability, we are committed to the agri-food industry in our country and we contribute to creating wealth and jobs. From Cava Guilera we want to congratulate all the cava institutions and companies that have rowed together to reach this new milestone: some wineries have already produced the 2020 vintage cavas with sugar from grapes. We continue!
