Vinari Awards 2019: The Xarel·la is Gold!

We are absolutely delighted. We have crowned the category that rewards sparkling wines from old reserves [minimum 50 months of aging] for the second consecutive year! We are really impressed, to be honest… Last year we won with an 8-year-old Brut Nature Gran Reserva that has been aged and is traditionally blended with xarel lo, macabeu and parellada. And this year we have won with a 6-year-old Brut Nature Gran Reserva and 100% xarel lo! Two equally fascinating cavas but very different from each other. The first is creamier, toasted, ripe fruit... And the second is more citric, green apple and a bit bitter. Finally, thank you very much to everyone and congratulations to the rest of the participating and award-winning wineries. An especially strong kiss for our cava colleagues [who also make fantastic bubbles] and for our colleagues from Penedès and Subirats, who were also multi-awarded. Long live wine, long live cava and long live vinari 19!
